D's Difficulty

Came across this little image I did while cleaning up my filespace. It's a series of icons for the difficulty selection for: Puzzle Chronicles, showing increasing difficulty from left to right... Sorry, it just still cracks me up...

Water Wigs (And more): Tim Tadder

I came across Tim Tadder via his Water Wig series (above) but be sure to check out the rest of his visceral site...

A Mad Man's 10 Tips For Success

10 Tips For Success From George Lois, the original Mad Man on Co. Design

 5. Teamwork might work in building an Amish barn, but it can’t create a Big Idea.
The accepted system for the creation of innovative thinking in a democratic environment is to work cooperatively in a team-like ambience. Don’t believe it. Whatever the creative industry, when you’re confronted with the challenge of coming up with a Big Idea, always work with the most talented, innovative mind available. Hopefully … that’s you. Avoid group grope and analysis paralysis. The greatest innovative thinker of our age remains Apple cofounder Steve Jobs, a modern-day Henry Ford. Jobs was not a consensus builder but a dictator who listened to his own intuitions, blessed with an astonishing aesthetic sense.

Among other eerie collections of manmade wastelands, Jamie McGregor Smith photographed Athens post Olympics, hopefully without a prediction for London.

Dr. Seuss Goes to War

Few probably relaie that Dr. Seuss (Theodor Seuss Geisel, 1904-1991) was also a political  cartoonist, in fact he was the chief editorial cartoonist for the New York newspaper PM (1940-1948), drawing more than 400 editorial cartoons.

Check out this fascinating and comprehensive site, which also links to the book.

The 2012 Olympics Logo

Like it or hate it; an interesting article on Co.Ddesign on the design of the 2012 Olympics logo.

London didn’t need to be put on the map with an iconic representation. We weren’t going to show the Tower of London, London Bridge, or the Houses of Parliament with some sort of watercolor hurdler over the top.

Whiteboard Art

Gregory Euclide is a teacher and an artist, why not combine the two like he has with his white board art...

Google Doodles

Though I am a bit of a bah humbug with the Olympics, I have noticed these gorgeous little Google Doodles each day adorning the Google front page.

And then there's the interactive version

Getting The Most From A Packaging Redesign

Landor On Getting The Most From A Packaging Redesign on Co.Design
Changing a recognizable packaging is daunting, requiring a big investment that could potentially backfire with consumers. But the potential benefits, argue Landor Associates’ Christine Hall and Dale Doyle, far outweigh the costs.
