I usually say PASS to any ‘animal’ video, so thanks to the person who convinced me to give his advert which combines singing dogs, Volkswagon and Star Wars- Fucking awesome…

Doritos ‘crash’ the Superbowl
Competition by Doritos for the public to ‘crash’ the Superbowl which I discovered through this rather amusing non finalist.

Don't Do Art!
This is a very clever parody of an anti-drug campaign for the College for Creative Studies in Detroit by Team Detroit… Although the last is kind of nonsensical to the theme, it definitely sums up the awful feelings my wife (also an artist) and I share (despite our repulsion at such sentiments) for our own children- Thankfully they’re coming through with the talent!

Gruen Planet Finale Picks!
Thought I’d share a couple of great ads highlighted on the season finale of Gruen Planet.
A stunt by Carlsburg involving 148 bikers a movie theatre and a hapless couple.
And a legend of an Ad out of NZ finding the sweet spot between a serious message and humour for Drink Driving: Legend

Movie Poster Formula
A brilliant site showing us the classic movie poster
formulas and how few original posters there really are… Personally,
when I worked at a video store, I always use to like lining up the
Steven Segal movies in a row- Try that yourself one day…
A Man's Guide to EB... Or Not...
An… interesting Ad by EB that’s stirring up a bit of controversy… Which was probably the whole idea… Playing on the idea that a 'man' must earn his time playing video games. I suppose there IUS some truth in it, but luckily I have a wife who let's his man play...
Interview: Theatrical Copywriter
A great interview with a
‘theatrical print copywriter’
Richard’s favorite was one he
worked on with David for an ESPN documentary called “The Streak.” It was
about a wrestling team that had never lost a match; it had “the longest
running winning streak in the history of high
school sports.” But “the tension was so unbelievable. If they lost they
would be disgracing their grandparents. So my line was, ‘The more you
win the more you have to lose.’”
I asked why that was his favorite.
“Because it’s NOT clever.”
David and I both tell him well, yes, it is clever.
“No, it’s truth! It’s true.”
“So truth trumps cleverness?”
“Absolutely.”

Mad Men's Advertising
Ahhhh, simpler times in advertising. Goes to show that Madmen is probably holding back on the reality...

Get Down... On The Gruen Transfer
As a fanboy of the Gruen Transfer, now back on television, you'll see an increasing number of posts from the show. Here's a pulled Youtube parody of the painful Coles supermarket adverts on TV here in Australia.
